Luxury Pet Friendly, Cabin Rental located in Murphy NC. Fox Den is a recently built cabin offering mountain views with covered and uncovered decks. This custom designed cabin has upscale furnishing and exceptional decor throughout. Fox Den has 2 Master Bedrooms with private baths. King master has a rustic stone shower in the bathroom. Second Master has a Queen Bed. There is also a Queen size sofa bed in the living room. Fox Den has a 3 large flat screen smart TV's with Cable one in each bedroom and one in the living room, also wireless internet service throughout. If you are looking to get away to the mountains in style, this is the cabin for you.

Everything was as expected, including the relatively challenging parking. The house was clean, everything worked, the rooms were comfortable. The location was great for getting to the Folk School, the route put you right by the main gravel parking lot in about 10 or 15 minutes. Also a good location for getting out and seeing things, but not the best view, the house is in a subdivision of sorts and the porch primarily looks down at other houses although ridges are visible in the distance. We are staying here again in March 2024 for another Folk School class. Also, the managers and owners were very accommodating when I had to cancel a week due to catching Covid at the last minute.

What an awesome escape. First time booking via VRBO, which was a little clunky. However the communication with Great Cabin Mountain Rentals was beyond excellent. A quick call with a question was answered on the spot and everything about our stay was communicated in a timely manner. Received welcome and checkout reminder texts that were above and beyond any other rentals I've done before. Fox Den is perched high on the side of a mountain with good views of NC. While the cabins are relatively close together, it's very quiet both on the porch and inside. This cabin has a fantastic large kitchen with most all your necessities. The property management company even has their own roasted coffee which is provided in pods and a ground bag. The owners of the cabin have decorated it tastefully, warmly, and minimally. Nothing overly personal, but just enough to be inviting and warm. The oversized fireplace calls you to cuddle up with one of the provided blankets. The three sided porch is a great spot to watch the fog rise off the mountains with a great cup of that coffee. Beds were comfy, and each room has its own bathroom. Love they provided allergen free organic toiletries. To top off the visit, it's a dog friendly cabin. Enjoyed being able to bring my pup along. The neighborhood has a shared area on the creek/river. There's a fire pit, grill, picnic tables, and kayak launch. Can't wait to go back!

This cabin was a beautiful escape to enjoy North Carolina in a mountain setting. Every morning even though it was cold, the sunrise from the wrap around porch greets you with a bright new day. My family and I really enjoyed the warmth and welcoming feeling of this cabin. It had everything we need and close to shops and stores in case you need to make a quick trip to re-supply.

Overall, our family was able to make another wonderful Christmas memory and our stay would not have been more comfortable without Tim and Tara as our hosts. They are both accommodating and responsive when we needed something and they have communicated with us effectively in times of special situations.

We love the place and Tim and Tara were an A+ hosts in our book!

Gorgeous views from 2 sides of the deck. Very quiet and so comfortable esp the king bed and oversize pillows. We hiked for miles every day and were glad to get home and enjoy a such a beautiful home to relax and have a peaceful rest.

The cabin was located in a beautiful area with the perfect view. Peaceful and relaxing, the cabin was gorgeous on the inside with all items checked. Also beautiful waterfall 20 minutes away with a very nice walk. The town with all essentials is close enough I believe about 15 minutes away. The kitchen is good size and the fireplace is very nice. They also had a Christmas tree up which added a beautiful touch. The property managers always answered my messages within a couple hours and were very helpful.

A great week here while my fiancée attended a harp workshop at the JC Folk School nearby. I hiked around the house with our small 6 lb poodle. She loved the outdoors here and also roaming freely around the house. I got in a lot of practice on my hammered dulcimer top.

The house was rustic, spacious and was beautifully laid out;. A dream house in the mountains. Spacious kitchen, with modern conveniences, e.g., dishwasher, microwave and large refrigerator. Living room had very comfortable furniture and we could kick back in the evenings and watch some news on the TV. Spectacular views from the outside wrap-around deck. All in all a nice respite for a week.

Not our first rodeo with this cabin. What keeps us coming back is the awesome service, everything is spotless, everything you need is already there at the cabin. It’s in a great location with beautiful mountain views. Highland Creek is a spotless community with deer and other wildlife all over the place. Tara and Tim are the most gracious hosts ever. If you need anything at all a quick phone call is all it takes, however we’ve never had to call them love the community so much and can’t wait to get back. This cabin is close to Walmart Lowe’s ingles supermarket and the casino. Cabin is beautiful. Very rustic with all the comfort of home, including wraparound decks,Nice barbecue grill, wood-burning fireplace, and a nice outdoor fire pit. But best of all it was dog friendly! Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful property. Did I happen to mention how quiet the community is? You could actually hear the deer coming trails in through the leaves

From the moment we turned the corner and saw the cabin our vacation was perfect The cabin was everything we imagined it would be when you open the door it smells like vacation The cabin was clean it had enough supplies to get you started for a day it was beautifully decorated the area had deer! we sat on the porch every morning and saw the deer come out. The view is beautiful mountains and woods 360° view The mornings and the evenings are beautiful The outdoor fire pit was fun for the family roasted marshmallows The town of Murphy is a cute friendly town great places to eat wonderful little shops to buy souvenirs there are so many activities to do in the area we were there in October it was beautiful The leaves were changing The weather was just right. We were having a small family reunion and we'll probably do it again in the summer so many different things to do during the summer weather thanks for a great vacation it was relaxing enjoyable just what we needed

Fox Den was a great cabin for us to get away to. The views were great and our dogs enjoyed going down to the river. Tara was wonderful to work with. There was a strong storm that knocked out the internet and the water. As soon as Tara was notified she began making the appropriate phone calls. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and having a good time. I would recommend this or any other cabin that Tara rents.

Fun weekend in the mountains. Nice place to stay. Close to town. Only thing we didn’t like was that it is on a narrow private road leading to the cabin and the driveway is a narrow gravel driveway. Other than that we loved our stay at the cabin.

My nieces and I had a great weekend stay at Fox Den. The first thing I noticed when we walked in the door was the good mountain wood cabin smell, which is a reminder of my childhood and really being in the mountains. (If you are smell sensitive, this was not overwhelming at all.) The cabin is in a development but is off to the side and I did not feel close to the other houses. We had a relaxing weekend reading, sitting on the front deck, hiking at Fines Creek and making s'mores at the outdoor fire pit.

The cabin was clean and well-maintained.

My only recommendation would be better reading lights in the living room.

I would recommend staying here!

It's a lovely, rustic home overlooking beautiful mountains. Two beds, two baths, a great kitchen, and quite comfortable. The community is quiet, and there was wildlife to watch. The place is really nice. It's not listed but they have a Keurig and regular coffee pot!The property managers are super nice. It's close to town and the casino. The only negative thing would be the driveway. It is hard to pull in and a little scary because there isn't room to turn your car around. But overall I loved the place and will return!

We had a great time. It was clean and comfortable. The porch was great with very comfortable rocking chairs. The only minor criticism I would make is that it wasn’t very secluded. Other than that, I would highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay. From the pictures and the description we thought it was more secluded so that was disappointing. However, it was still very quite and we enjoyed it. The only thing that I would like to point out about the cabin is that the pots and pans either need to be replaced or the handles need to be tightened. They are all very loose. If one of them comes off while someone is cooking it could be bad. Thank you!

We had a great time. From the start, we noticed a beautifully decorated cabin with all the upgrades. This place had everything we needed for cooking, eating, and entertainment. It was spotless and comfortable for us. We did not have any issues during our stay. And my husband got to use the barbecue (new) one time. Highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed in this cabin for the month of August. The cabin fits the description perfectly...the "rustic" part is just the unfinished beams, door frames etc. which I think give the cabin character. It isn't overly furnished with unnecessary stuff so it feels bigger than it is, plus the great wrap around deck adds to the size. The beds are very comfortable which I feel is important, especially for a longer stay. There were plenty of hangers in both bedroom closets. Management was very prompt to help us when needed (which was only for a loose wire connection in the air conditioner.) For us, the only negative to this cabin is the driveway. It's very difficult to make the hairpin turn off the road into the driveway. The driveway is a bit scary mostly because it has a steep drop off on one side of it without any barrier. We bought some "guide poles" at Lowes just so we could be assured of not backing up too far in that direction. It would feel so much safer if there was some kind of barrier installed on that side of the driveway to help define where the driveway actually is since much of the gravel drive gets grown over with patches of grass. The cabin is secluded enough to feel private, yet close enough to other houses to make you feel safe in a nice community.
Plenty of wildlife action can be seen from the deck...deer, fox, coyote all made an appearance, plus a couple of house cats out for a walk! Fun month & this cabin helped make us very happy.

Lovely cabin. No hairdryer so we just bought at Walmart. Would have been nice if bbq (cover on floor) and rocking chairs on verandah was washed down. We wiped down couple of rocking chairs and table to use. Otherwise enjoyable, quiet and peaceful.

This is a beautiful little cabin with everything you need (minus the food and drink). It’s convenient to everything as well. We stayed with our two bulldogs and they loved the cabin. It was cold when we visited in January and the fireplace really helped take the edge off the chill. The kitchen had a massive amount of storage and was equipped with everything but a crockpot! Bring your own toiletries, food, paper towels, etc. and you’re set. The beds were comfortable, although at 5’5” I had some trouble climbing into the large master. A small stool would have helped. You won’t regret choosing the Fox Den, we liked it so much that we discussed buying it!

Fox Den was such a beautiful, comfy home away from home! I came into Murphy for a wedding, stayed in the "Fox Den" for a couple of nights and found the home charming. I didn't have time to take full advantage of the home's offering (e.g. didn't get an opportunity to cook or spend much time on the porch) but I can tell that this would be a relaxing retreat for a future visit. The home was clean, the beds and couches were comfortable and the place was well appointed for a longer stay. I would recommend it to other guests.

This cabin was perfect for us, rustic feel in a new build at an affordable price. Great/quiet location, picturesque views from the wrap-around porch. Enjoyed the fire pit (bring wood/axe) and full moon rise in the eve. Deer everywhere too. Access to the river/pavillion and a short walk to the top of the mountain with even better views of Murphy. Management was communicative and quick to reply to my email inquiry. Cabin was clean and ready when we arrived. Pet friendly with a reasonable fee, so our Aussie dog enjoyed the stay too. Kitchen could use more items, bring a tub of supplies. I pack my own knives, cutting board, coolers and kitchen essentials, so not a huge issue. Finally, the cabin is close to the John C. Campbell Folk school (9mi), Blairsville, Young Harris and Hiawassee, all 30-40 minutes away. Visits to Brasstown Bald, Bell Mountain Overlook, and other creeks/falls are easy day-trips. We had a great stay at this cabin.

The cabin was awesome. Brand new, nice decor, updated appliances and electronics, cozy beds, beautiful view and very quiet setting. Definitely something my family would come back to next time we travel through the Southeast. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable. We loved the cabin and appreciated that a few stock items (salt, pepper, oil) were on hand; just wish the kitchen was a little better equipped (a hand mixer and serving bowls would have been nice). Also, many cabins provide complimentary soap and shampoo, so we hadn't come prepared. The fireplace would have been more enjoyable if there had been some firewood on the porch. Despite those minor things, we loved the cabin, especially the rustic wood floors, homey feel, and proximity to the John C. Campbell Folk School. Murphy is also a great town to visit with good food in local eateries.

Cabin is really cute, cozy and very clean. Booking company easy to deal with and responsive. Beds are comfortable and outside sitting area is wonderful. Only negatives: Need sign at end of driveway marking #50, as it was nearly impossible to find in the dark (house sits at a weird angle to the street as you drive up the hill where driveway is almost behind you). Towels and washcloths are thin and and dingy and look old - badly in need of replacing. Bathmat and quilt in master BR have yellow stains and need replacing. Easy fixes all.

This cabin had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting out on deck and enjoying the low humidity in July. Views were very nice. It would be spectacular in the fall. We walked from cabin to river each evening. It is a little strenuous walk up and down hills but not bad at all. There is a community pavilion with access to a low wide river. There are private properties surrounding the river making it difficult to walk along the banks. The cabin is perfect for relaxing, nice, clean, and comfortable. We had to drive to go to hiking trails and for kayaking. Murphy has a wonderful river walk.

This cabin is fantastic! Very quiet, clean, and beautiful. The master bedroom shower is so creative, being entirerly made of rock. My only suggestion would be to put out tables on the porch next to the chairs. Get rid of the door stop going out to the porch. We tripped over it a few times. There must be another way to stop the door from hitting the counter top.
