My Mountain Cabin

Welcome to My Mountain Cabin by Great Mountain Cabin Rentals in Murphy, NC. This sweet cabin offers 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 2 fire pits. Just .2 miles of pavement (no gravel here) from Highway 64 and 5 miles from the Tennessee lines allowed quick access to the Ocoee Recreation Area for a great deal of adventure fun. One bedroom (queen) is located on the first floor and the second is the loft (queen) offers, pull out sofa and additional 1/2 bath and small office area/reading nook. The kitchen is well equipped and has beautiful granite countertops. The Flat screen TV offers satellite service.

The first fire pit is located is a gazebo off the main deck and is gas for easy convenience. The second fire pit it down a short walking deck staircase and is wood. Great for making smores and telling stories. INTERNET IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME!

  The cabin was clean, perfect size, beautiful decks, with perfect location. The weather was warm and the leaves were turning overlooking the mountain side. We went hiking on several occasions and had the best time. The location made it very easy to visit neighboring Tennessee and Georgia. We "crammed" as much sight seeing in with out to busy. Our experience was so enjoyable that we our looking to buy a cabin there in the near future!

  This location is very centralized to a long list of activities. It's very clean, with all the modern conveniences. Being on a steep hill was a minus for us as we are elderly and couldn't walk around the neighborhood. Young folks would have no problem. We do recommend renting this cabin for a mountain vacation.

  great communication, nice clean cabin, good access (for the majority of people) the kitchen supplies for cooking / preparing needs some improvement in the serving / baking dish department as well as the utensils, no potato masher or mixer,(had to use a regular fork, not very fluffy spuds, and a tired wrist!) while it is pet friendly, there is little to no level area to use for potty breaks - a bit of a challenge for one on a leash. The next items are just personal preferences and in no way are meant to downgrade the rental itself: biggest thing - a shower head with an adjustable spray would make for a better shower experience, especially for those of us with long thick hair - having a tv in at least the master bedroom (which i failed to notice in the listing as NOT having one), and also a bit more channels on the cable- couldn't watch the race on fs1.

  The cabin was just like the pictures. Really liked the deck, wooden floor, fireplace and all the natural light coming thru the windows. There were some things that can be improved but overall it was great stay for the price.
  Reason for 4 stars instead of 5: no blinds in the windows. I think some on the parking side of house could help with privacy. The bath towels I used all had some hair on it. Possibly due to color of towel, it’s hard to tell for cleaning person? Also bed sheets were low quality and pretty worn. For cooking, there were no proper cutting board to use in the kitchen.

  This was our first Christmas without our adult daughter so we ran away from home, and we could not have picked a better place to run away to. The cabin was a home away from home, with all we needed to be comfy. We were blessed to experience the first White Christmas in 10 years. The owners checked on us making sure we were ok and advising us to stay off the roads. Seeing the falling snow and being snuggled in was the best Christmas gift ever. The cabin is located close to many mountain attractions like Blue Ridge, GA, McCaysville, GA and many hiking trails and areas of interest. The cabin is easy to get to without the need of a 4 wheel drive. The fire place provided more than enough heat, to the point we turned off the house unit and were very cozy even with temps in the teens. The kitchen had all you needed to cook meals and not have to worry about going out to dinner. Over all this is a must visit cabin and area and one we hope to return to so we can take advantage of the outside fire pits and if we come again on Christmas we will decorate the little Christmas tree we found outside once it snowed.

  My wife had asked if we could get away to the mountains for her birthday AND bring our dogs too. My Mountain Cabin was awesome, as the wrap-around porch was perfect for the dogs and for coffee at sunrise. Murphy is fairly close with a Walmart and many restaurants, and Bryson City/Cherokee is just up the road with plenty to do (zip line, white water, antiques, etc.) along the way! When we are ready for our next mountain adventure, we will return to My Mountain Cabin!

  It was one of the easiest places to rent, do paperwork, received notices in timely fashion. Would be great for a family. Large enough to spread out, big deck with fire pit. Only downside is property is steep and 20 minutes to stores. BUT that's what we wanted - get away from the stress of city life.

The gas fireplace was so easy to use, and added ambiance. The water had no odor and was drinkable (we have stayed in other cabins that had water with a foul stench).   2 issues that did not affect us. I could not figure out how to get the gas fire place going but I didn’t try long. No soap in the bathrooms but we had our own.

  We and our Labrador Retriever Gracie had the ideal rental. It had a huge front and even larger side porch that was gated and enclosed. Gracie loved to play fetch on the porch every afternoon when we returned from a delightful day. Home was exceptional with all the amenities and was very cozy with two large sofas to stretch out on.   We had a lovely time at the cabin and seeing the sights around Murphy. It was so quiet and when it rained it was a lovely sound on the roof. I wish we had stayed one more day because each nigh we would work on a 1,000 piece puzzle and we almost had it finished but it was time to checkout.

  This is an absolutely adorable cabin. We loved the outdoor gas fire pit on the back porch and the weather cooperated with a shower of snow flurries!! Being from Florida, we were delighted and in awe! This cabin is very comfortable, clean and beautifically decorated! One thing to mention though, the tub and shower faucets are opposite, hot is cold and cold is hot. No big deal once you figure that out. We spent a lot of time visiting the many antique shops. We traveled with our 24ft motorhome towing our motorcycle. The roads to the cabin are a bit steep in places, but we had no problem. Caution would be if there were ice or snow on the roads naturally. We would definately recommend this cabin!

  We spent our Christmas vacation at this cabin. It had a beautiful warm interior. The rich golden Pinewood was lovely. We enjoyed the gas fireplace tremendously. I made our Christmas dinner there in the kitchen supplies were adequate. Would have adored having a Jacuzzi But that is one thing they don’t have. Very steep road getting to the cabin so glad that we did not have ice or snow. We brought our dogs and they loved it but one of the neighbors did Yellit us for not having them on a leash which I thought was absurd. Overall it was quite nice and the location was very good. Thye only thing I found lacking was the hot tub

  Beautiful cabin right on mountain side so steep walking about property but lots of trees and sitting on the porch looking out on them was a favorite of mine. The wood fire pit was great we used it often. Kitchen was great to cook in I cooked our Thanksgiving dinner there with ease. Cabin is beautiful inside. Loft got very warm and lots of bugs our fussy teenager wouldn't sleep up there but the downstairs bed was great. Showers had "trick" to reaching an appropriate took a couple of cold showers before we had to call managers to find this out. It would've been helpful to know this on arrival maybe something owners should share in rental instructions...which were great to have too many cabins don't provide anything which is annoying. The gas fireplace was great to really heated the house. We would stay here again maybe without the teenager haha

  Perfect quite location, atop a mountain. The cabin was exactly as pictured. All the necessities were provided in the kitchen to make a few meals.   A great place to relax and explore many areas of NC, TN & GA. furnished to the max at a great price. super fire pit. Very private and relaxing. Great WiFi service and cell service. Beds were so comfortable. Gas fireplace that was awesome. Only thing I would change would be a larger TV since it was football season but that's just me!
